Our School Community - EAL & Racial Equity
We have a wonderfully diverse school community. 41% of our pupils are from a minority ethnic background. Nationally, 37.4% of primary school pupils are from a minority ethnic background.
If a language is spoken at home which is not English, then these pupils are recorded as having 'English as an Additional Language' (EAL). We currently have 33.7% of our pupils recorded as having EAL. Nationally, 22.8% of primary school pupils were recorded as having a first language known or believed to be other than English.
