Notice Board
24th July

Thank you to all those parents who were able to make it to our celebration assembly last week – we really appreciate your support and we’re sure you will agree the children were fabulous!

On Monday of this week we will collect all of the reading books and records to be changed and handed up to their new teacher. Please continue sharing books with your child over the summer holiday.

Thank-you for all of your support this year – it has been invaluable to the children’s learning. We have had an amazing year, and are really proud of what the children have achieved. We wish them all the very best as they move into Year Two!

Don’t forget that we finish at 14:00 on Tuesday.

Have a wonderful summer!

Thank you for all of your support this year.

The Year 1 Team

Click here to view the presentation from the Parent Meeting about Year 2 assessment.  We have also included the Year 1 and 2 common exception words, a grammar glossary and the teacher assessment framework for Year 2 which outlines the end of year expectations.

We would like to welcome the children to an exciting Year 1. Mrs Lowe, Mrs Gilbert and Mrs Graham will be supporting Miss Bebbington in Sky Class and Miss Carr and Mrs Gordon in Ocean class. Details of our learning this term can be found by following the link below.

We will be doing PE on Monday and Wednesday each week. This will take place in all weathers, so please ensure that your child has the correct PE kit and well-fitting footwear for this.

Special bag/show and tell will take place on a Friday. Please click on the link to view the rotas for this.

It is our intention to try and change the children’s reading books three times a week. This will be on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We rely on the kindness of our parent helpers to do this job, so we would be grateful of your understanding if occasionally this does not happen.

Year 1 Homework

Spelling and Maths homework will be issued after October half term. In the meanwhile, please read with your child at least three times a week. It is important that you sign in your child’s reading record every time you hear them read, in order for the books to be changed.
