To be ignorant of what occurred before you were born is to remain always a child. For what is the worth of human life, unless it is woven into the life of our ancestors by the records of history?
Marcus Tullius Cicero (106 - 43 BC)
Knowledge of world history enables children to understand other cultures. Children are born into history; every family has a story to tell and helping children to learn about their own history gives them the opportunity to understand their family roots, their culture and the country in which they live.
Teaching history to children has many important benefits. History provides identity. Studying history helps us to understand change and developments in society. It shows us models of good and responsible citizenship. It teaches us how to learn from the mistakes of others.
What do our Pupils Say about History?
Our teachers teach the subject of history like a long and intriguing story full of adventure. We do many amazing activities and topics such as Greek Day, World War 2, Tudors and many more.
