Ways to Support Home Learning
This is a collection of links to organisations that provide free online resources to support any home learning. Some of the websites do require parents and carers to set up an account even though access is free. All links are suitable for the primary age range but we advise you to check the content before offering it to your child.
Learn Poetry Off By Heart
Poetry by Heart is a website for teaching and learning about poetry – by heart and out loud. Children from the age of 7 can find poems they love, and challenge themselves to learn the poems off by heart and perform them to their family. Use this link: Learn Poetry
Purple Mash
Your child should have their own log-in that can be found in their Reading Record. If you cannot find this, please contact the school for assistance. There are lots of great resources on this site including, maths, English, creative projects and topic-related activities. Use this link: Purple Mash
Oxford Owl for Home
Oxford Owl for Home is a website with free resources available to download without registering. Aimed at primary children, they offer activities for reading, English, Mathematics and interactive games. There are also handy “How to” videos to explain tricky concepts. Oxford Owl’s free e-book section is wonderful. It’s free but you need a log-in to access it. Their eBooks are not optimised for mobile phones and are best viewed on a computer, laptop, or tablet. National Geographic
National Geographic is a great platform for learning and it is totally free. There are online games, resources and competitions too. Use this link: National Geographic
NASA Kids' Club
There are lots of space-related activities for children to access here. Use this link: Nasa
This site has puzzles, games and activities for your child to complete around books. To access the site, parents will need to create a login but this is free. Use this link: Scholastic
