This information is intended to provide clarity and transparency to parents and carers about what to expect from remote teaching and learning if:
Your child has to isolate because they have COVID-19 symptoms and are waiting on a PCR test result.
Your child has a confirmed positive case of COVID-19 and therefore has to isolate for 10 days at home.
We need to help manage a COVID-19 outbreak within the school. Actions will be considered when there are 5 positive cases amongst pupils or staff who are likely to have mixed closely within a 10-day period.
COVID-19 infection rates in the community are extremely high, and other measures have failed to reduce transmission.
We have to respond to a ‘variant of concern’.
We need to prevent unsustainable pressure on the NHS
We will only implement some, or all, of the measures in this plan in response to recommendations provided by our Local Authority (LA), Directors of Public Health (DsPH), the Public Health England Health Protection Team or the national government.
How will the school deliver remote teaching and learning?
Your child’s class teacher will use Google Classroom to teach your child remotely. They may also use Zoom to communicate with your child and the class.
What help is available?
The children have a login and password for Google Classroom and should know how to access it. This is the platform we also use to set weekly homework, for most year groups. The children are part of a virtual class on Google Classroom where they can access, complete and return work set by their Class Teacher.
You are welcome to telephone the school if you need help with finding passwords or you come across a problem that you do not know how to resolve. You can also use our email: firstname.lastname@example.org
You will also find a range of guides below that have been put together by the school to support you.
